Welcome

Buttermilkis the new home of Throatlake!! Having been recognised as one of the top online Irish Art Galleries for well over 10 years, Throatlake are about to take the next step and open in incredible new premises in Portnablagh, Co. Donegal, right next to the sea and overlooking the beautiful Horn Head and stunning Portnablagh Harbour. This is an exciting move forward for our family owned business and will allow us to further develop our long standing reputation for providing affordable and top quality art from Ireland and beyond. We will also be opening a delightful new Café within our new Gallery which will serve a wide selection of coffees, teas and tasty treats.

As well as our usual selection of top quality pieces from established and well known Irish Artists, we work very hard to provide a platform for emerging Donegal artists to showcase their work and development. We of course continue to exhibit the best work from a number of our principal artists who we have been working with for many years now, include established artists such as Hamilton Sloan, Paul Holmes, Darren Paul, Sue Howells and Becky Mair.

At the top end of the Irish Art Market you will find many of the artists featured in our premium collection. The works offered here are of the highest quality in terms of their rarity and desirability and represent all that is sought after by discerning collectors of Irish Art and Artists. Any of these pieces would make an excellent addition to the walls of a discerning collector but if you are looking for something more specific and we do not have it in stock, please enquire and we will make every effort to source it on your behalf.

Whilst we have got a new home, we retain our passion for bringing fine Irish art to as wide an audience as possible, simply and directly at affordable prices through both our website and also our new Gallery and Café in Portnablagh. We will continue to be fully committed to customer service and will aim to promote high quality and affordability together with our absolute guarantee of confidentiality, professionalism and first class service to all of our customers. This also applies to our new café of course as well as our art offerings. We offer a full breakfast, lunch and mid morning/afternoon menu together with a broad selection of Coffees, Teas and Cold Drinks. Given our location, seafood features extensively on our menu every day and we also love to bake so offer a wide range of in-house cooking and baking for you to enjoy. We can even offer you a glass of wine to enjoy with your meal on our terrace if the weather allows – you won’t find a better view to realx and enjoy while you refuel!
Above all, we are proud and happy to consider all of our customers to be our friends and extend a very warm welcome to you all to visit our new Buttermilk Gallery and Café in Portnablagh – we’d be delighted to see you!

If you cannot make it in person, that makes us sad ☹, but maybe you’d just prefer to use our website, so please feel free to look around our site; follow the links on the menus to view an artist’s work or use the search facility to find something in particular. Clients who register in our personal gallery will be kept fully up to date with our latest pieces which we feel would be of interest to them and will receive interesting and exclusive information about the gallery and it’s artists.

If you do want to get in touch, simply go to the Contact Us or Find Us sections and we will be delighted to discuss your requirements further. Please enjoy your visit and don’t hesitate to contact us if we can help in any way.
